“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C. S. Lewis

Suzy Vivian

“When you have a dream, you’ve got to grab it and never let go.”

I have always loved reading fantasy novels. I was challenged to write a book by a friend. He liked how I wrote when writing for my degree at the University of Utah. So, I took him up on it and started the book, The Blue Orb. It was my first attempt at writing a novel and it was a bit overwhelming. I enjoyed writing it, but the editing was a pain. I finally got it polished and decided to self-publish. That has been a real challenge. There’s lots of competition out there. But I have kept going in the hope that readers will enjoy my books as much as I enjoyed writing them.

The Blue Orb

Hundreds of years ago in the land of Uranallee, a powerful wizard creates a blue orb capable of amplifying directed thought with just a few words. It lies dormant for many years, until a coven of vile witches discovers it and develops a plot to take over the world.

Zarcon is a great wizard who fears the witches have the legendary blue orb that provides them with more power the longer they possess it. One day after he hears someone riding toward his castle at a frantic pace, he opens the door to Jasmine, a young woman who has just stolen the orb and somehow escaped from the pack of wolves chasing her. After she enlists help from Zarcon to help her protect the artifact from the witches who will do anything to get it back, they must embark on a perilous journey to seek help from another. Will they succeed in their quest or will the witches catch them and once again obtain the orb?

Neberon Comes

“In Book Two: The Mist Monsters,” the adventurers-Jasmine, Donavan, Zarcon, Greta, and Magg-recover from their battle against Zora’s coven and the destruction of the Blue Orb. Their respite is short-lived as they confront the terrifying mist monsters plaguing the land, resolving to end their reign of terror.

Magg, rejected by her cruel sister Zora, feels liberated upon learning of the demise of the witches. She seeks redemption, yearning to learn benevolent magic from Zarcon and aid others, distancing herself from Zora’s malevolence.

Amidst planning Jasmine and Donavan’s wedding, the group prepares to combat the mist monsters. Magg, equipped with unexpected potent magic, joins forces with Zarcon’s party, while Echeron and Lucain seek their help against the monsters ravaging their village.

Monsters in the Mist

At the end of the Blue Orb, our heroes, led by the wizard Zarcon, are celebrating the destruction of the Blue Orb of legend. As they recover from their trials of that journey, they decide to rest and consider what was next for them to accomplish. Would they stay together and go after the monsters that had killed two of their number during their effort to destroy the orb, or would they go their own ways and try to forget the troubles facing the land they called home?

In a certain countryside far from any major city or village, an animal was heard to scream his last. A certain mist was seen by the other woodland creatures to be fading from sight. The sound was heard by few human ears. It was the beginning of terrible trouble for the people of the land. If they were not stopped it would mean certain death.

Book Reviews

“The author does a great job of balancing the ongoing action with more introspective moments and historical background on characters in a way that doesn’t slow down the story.”

– GABRIELLA TUTINO
The US Review of Books

“While this is Vivian’s first book – the author is very talented, writing clearly and showing a passion for fantasy worlds. The story, characters, and setting have been carefully crafted with passion and creativity. The Blue Orb takes readers on an adventure to a fantasy land riddled with problems larger than reality. This is a great book for anyone who needs an escape from modern life.”

– NICOLE OLSON
Hollywood Book Reviews

“Suzy Vivian is amazing in her art. The author’s mind is creative and her characters are properly developed and make the reader fall in love with the story more. The mystery of some characters, suspense when narrating, and conclusion are some of the elements in this book that make it a great fantasy read. The author went through great strides to make both the story and characters different from others books of the same genre.”
